Minister of Communications and Information Technology (ICT) Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi made the remarks on Sunday.
Turning to the communications services of pilgrims and mourners heading to Iraq for performing Arbaeen rites and rituals, he said “drastic measures were taken for launching Wi-Fi internet service en route Najaf to Kabala. Unfortunately, Iraqi officials did not issue necessary license in this respect.”
Despite necessary follows up made by the Interior minister and ambassador of Iran to Iraq, Iran’s Wi-Fi parts and equipment were seized by Iraqi security centers, the issue of which was reflected by media outlets in the past days, the minister said.
He promised that problems, occurred in this regard, will be resolved as soon as possible.
In the end, Minister of Communications and Information Technology (ICT) Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi said “ICT Ministry and relevant operators made their utmost efforts to offer quality services to the mourners and pilgrims of Imam Hussein (AS) during this worldly prestigious rites and rituals as of months earlier, so that various and miscellaneous internet facilities were provided to them all.”
